Trapped in an elevator with the most beautiful man she has ever seen, exhausted bakery girl Nerissa Cole whispers that he is her dream, never imagining he is Severo Bellandi, the most powerful mafia boss in Chicago, and that he heard every word. Hours later, in a ballroom where rich heiresses wait to be chosen as the Don's bride, he ignores them all and points to the girl holding the tray of pastries, declaring her the woman he has chosen. But being picked by a man like him is far more dangerous than being passed over, and rival families now want her gone before morning. Why would a man who can have anyone choose a broke stranger over a single whispered confession?
Took her long enough to understand ! I love your stories, Lena, but sometimes your heroines take way too long to admit mistakes and forgive. If they do want to leave, which is understandable, they shouldn’t let their pride make them blind to the possibility of still unknown justifications for apparently unjustified actions. Thank you for the thoughtful feedback, Catherine! Fair point — sometimes pride keeps my heroines blind a little too long 😊 I'll keep that in mind. Sending love to Belgium! ❤️
I agree with Catherine. Many book2 have become a frustrating experience.
